Polarized MauiPure LT | Born in Hawaii
Ten grams. That is the frame and both lenses together, about a third of an ounce, and it is the whole idea behind 'Akau. Maui Jim went rimless to delete the eyewire entirely, then cut the lenses from MauiPure LT, the thinnest and lightest lens material they make.
The saving carries on into places you only notice by wearing it. The temple tip pads are pared back to almost nothing, and the nose pads are shaped to move air behind them, so the frame keeps its grip instead of creeping down once you warm up. The lens still measures 62mm across on a 6 base, which is real coverage for a frame with no rim holding it.
One colorway: Crystal Matte, with Blue Hawaii mirrored lenses over a Neutral Grey base. The polarization is PolarizedPlus2, Maui Jim's own treatment: color and anti-reflective layers built on top of the polarizing filter, not a filter working alone.

All sales are final and we do not offer monetary refunds — many of our pieces are one-of-a-kind or very small production. Eligible items can be returned for store credit: within 3 days of delivery for shipped orders, or 3 days of purchase in store. Items must be unworn and in original condition with the original case and packaging. Store credit never expires; once a store credit has been used, that purchase is final.
